Chris Moon, a former British soldier, has dedicated his life to serving others and pushing the boundaries of human endurance. But beyond his military and humanitarian work, he is best known for his unbelievable survival story—escaping a deadly hostage situation and overcoming a life-altering landmine explosion.
While working to clear landmines in Cambodia, Chris was kidnapped by the Khmer Rouge, one of history’s most feared rebel groups. Facing execution at any moment, he used psychology, negotiation, and sheer willpower to talk his way out of captivity and walked away with his life.
Just a year later, in Mozambique, fate tested him again. While clearing landmines in a declared safe area, he stepped on a mine, losing his right arm and leg in an instant. But instead of letting tragedy define him, Chris made a life-changing decision—he would not just survive, but thrive.
Against all odds, he became an ultramarathon runner, conquering some of the toughest endurance races in the world, including the Marathon des Sables, a 250km race across the Sahara Desert. His story is a testament to resilience, courage, and the power of the human spirit.
Despite his unimaginable challenges, Chris remains humble and dedicated to inspiring others. He now shares his journey through motivational speaking, proving that we are all capable of overcoming life’s greatest obstacles.
